Joe Kaptein's Pool Sharks (151 Improvised Jazz)

'Since discovering a mysterious framed picture of two Japanese pool players on the side of the road next to a rubbish bin in Grey Lynn in November 2020, I've been recording stacks of music center around lots of synths and drum machines, influenced by 70s krautrock, Burt Bacharach, John Carroll Kirby among others, with these two guys overlooking everything from up above on the wall. The result of these recordings is an album titled Japanese Pool Masters, to be released the same day as this gig. Some of the recordings from this album will be brought to life for the first time ever with the able assistance of the band... so expect a bit of lush sonic debauchery. Nice.'
